Yes. The peel-assist uses a food-grade stainless steel heating element with a precision thermostat capped at 90°C — well below boiling. No plastic ever contacts the almonds during heating. BIS certified under IS 302.

The device has a low-almond indicator LED. If the hopper is empty during a scheduled cycle, the device skips that cycle and alerts you via the LED display. It resumes automatically the next night once you refill.

The current model is specifically optimised for almonds (California/Gurbandi). The water ratios and thermal parameters are tuned for almond skin thickness. Future SMATIC devices will handle cashews, walnuts and other nuts.

Under 35dB during the soak phase (quieter than a whisper). The brief heating cycle at 6 AM is slightly louder (~45dB, similar to a quiet kitchen) but only runs for under 2 minutes.

The soaking jar, strainer lid and dispensing mechanism are fully removable and dishwasher-safe. The main unit exterior is wiped clean. A weekly clean cycle runs automatically.
